Pressing Play In Midlife
A Conversation Saturated with Beauty-Fuel
I’ve just recorded an episode for The Pressing Play Podcast with the wonderful Jo Fiddy — menopause expert, motivational speaker, host of The Pressing Play Podcast and fellow Rapid Tapping® Pro. A woman who is genuinely helping shift the conversation around midlife from pause to possibility and, in her own words, “pressing play.” (jofiddy.com)
And honestly?
It felt like one of those conversations that lands exactly where so many women are right now.
Because midlife isn’t about pressing pause.
It’s about pressing play — but from a place that actually feels like you.
Jo’s work around menopause, nervous-system support and helping women feel like themselves again is something I’ve personally experienced too… and that’s probably a whole other podcast episode in itself.
But back to the podcast…
…
We spoke about my method, Makeup Your Face, Makeup Your Mind™, and why I believe the moments spent standing at the mirror are far more powerful than most women realise.
Not because makeup “fixes” anything.
But because the thoughts, energy and language we bring into those moments quietly shape how we move through the day.
The mirror can become criticism.
Or it can become connection.
And somewhere between the skincare, the concealer and wondering why one eyebrow now seems to have entered peri-menopause separately from the rest of your face… there’s actually an opportunity to reconnect with yourself.
We talked about skin, confidence, nervous-system regulation, identity shifts in midlife and the growing understanding that calm is becoming the new way to glow.
Because beauty in midlife isn’t really about piling more on.
It’s about understanding:
what works for your skin now
how to enhance rather than mask
how stress shows up in the face and body
and why a calmer nervous system often changes the way you look entirely
There’s a softness that comes when women stop fighting themselves.
That’s the beauty I’m interested in.
The less-is-more kind.
The wisdom-over-pressure kind.
The “I recognise myself again” kind.
And perhaps that’s what midlife is really asking of us.
Not to become someone new…
But to come home to ourselves with more gentleness, more knowledge and far less apology.
The episode is live now — and I genuinely can’t wait for you to hear it.
